World Bedwetting Day is an annual event held on the last Tuesday of May, and it aims to raise awareness about bedwetting or nocturnal enuresis, a common condition that affects millions of children and young adults around the world.
Bedwetting is a condition that can cause embarrassment and shame in those who suffer from it, often leading to social isolation and low self-esteem. But it's essential to understand that it's a treatable condition and not the fault of the person who experiences it.
The theme for World Bedwetting Day 2023 is "Breaking the Silence," emphasizing the importance of speaking up about bedwetting and encouraging more people to seek help.
Parents, caregivers, and healthcare professionals can help those affected by bedwetting by providing support, understanding, and access to treatment options. Bedwetting alarms, medications, and behavioral therapies are all effective treatments for bedwetting.
World Bedwetting Day 2023 serves as an opportunity to shine a light on this often-hidden condition and encourage conversations about it. It's time to break the silence and help those affected by bedwetting lead happy, healthy lives.
Initially, had a problem with sensor but Service received in response to our query was excellent. The matter was resolved without delay. Can’t fault the help. The alarm does exactly what it says on the box. First class product.
We purchased this after a recommendation from the doctor to be help my 8 year old who was still using nappies. After just two weeks she's learnt to stay dry each night. Absolutely brilliant. Wish more mum's would share stories in the playground. I'll be talking about it to others to let them know it's not that uncommon.
Best purchase ever! My daughter was dry after one week. I stopped using the alarm after two weeks of her being dry so she was completely done with it by the end of week three! Medical professionals should be recommending this rather than medicating children. 100% worth the money .
We have struggled for years with various techniques try to get our child to be dry throughout the night and failed miserably.
We have used this alarm for over a month and we are consistently seeing dry nights, it took a few nights to get to grips with it as said child is a very heavy sleeper but they got used to it and to start with was waking up a few times in the night with the alarm going off, to which they got up and used the toilet, we are now at the stage where we have only had one or two minimal accidents in the last 3 weeks. We have found it to be very sensitive and occasionally goes off if the tiniest bit of moisture gets on it so you have to make sure everything is very dry, we are using it between 2 pairs of underwear.
My 7 year old has been using the alarm for one month now. After being wet every night he has just had 6 nights in the last week dry and the one night he wasn’t was a tiny drop in his pants and was woken by the alarm. It took two weeks until we started seeing dry nights and significantly smaller wet patches. It does take effort from child and parents as at first being woken by that alarm was a shock and it was hard to get back to sleep but I’d urge anyone to push past 2-3 weeks (maybe in a school holiday). Alarm has worked well for us and stayed in place between 2 underpants. We chose to put a pull up over the pants to catch any larger wet patches to save bedding etc. Very pleased parents and most importantly child!
